Our violin teachers can teach a wide variety of genres. Whether you aspire to be Paganini or Lindsey Sterling, our instructors can help you achieve your goals step by step! The violin is typically associated with classical and folk music, but our violin teachers can teach every genre from pop to jazz and even some fiddle! Our students spend time each week working on technical skills to improve their sound quality and intonation, but also have their favorite songs incorporated into the lessons so they finish with their favorite piece. Our violin teachers, through their care and expertise, will certainly nurture any student’s love of the violin.

Research has shown that children and adults who take violin lessons have improved memory, concentration, and attention span. The brain development is enhanced and children with musical training perform much better in school. There are also the physical benefits to playing the violin, such as stronger and better posture and improved motor skills.

What styles of violin do you teach?

We teach all styles from classical to pop. Tell us your favorite artist or music, and we will pair you with an instructor that will help you play those songs you love.

How qualified are Gilbert School of Music's violin instructors?

We carefully select instructors that are professionals in the music industry and/or have a college degree in music. All instructors work great with all ages and genuinely love teaching just as much as they love music. Are there violin recitals?

Absolutely! Every Summer and Winter, students have the opportunity to perform in a real theater and be treated like a concert violinist! Unlike most of our competitors, we do not charge students a fee to perform. All family and friends are welcome to attend.
